LANCHESTER BOWLING CLUB
ABOUT US
Lanchester Bowling Club is a small, friendly club which was founded in 1982.
We play bowls on the attractive green in Lanchester, Co Durham, from May to September each year.
The club is a member of the North West Durham League, the South West Durham Veterans League and the Derwentside League and matches are played in these leagues 5 times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and Wednesday evenings). The club also plays several friendlies each year with teams in the area.
Club competitions are also held each year for several trophies and there is friendly rivalry between members.
We have 40 members, both men and women, but would love to have more. Members are welcomed regardless of age, gender or ability and the membership fee is only £30 (£15 for new members). This allows free access to the green throughout the season.
Visitors are also welcome, only £2 per game and bowls are available. All you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes. So if you have never played bowls before, come along and give it a try.
The club sends a regular report about our activities to the Lanchester Village Voice newspaper. To read these reports, click here
